British low-cost airline easyJet announced on Monday, October 26, that it will offer Wi-Fi onboard for the first time, using SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet.
The rollout
Starlink will be installed across easyJet’s A320, A320neo and A321neo aircraft starting in the first half of 2027, with the rollout expected to be finished by early 2028. The airline says passengers will be able to stream, game and browse on their own devices, check flight status in the easyJet app, look up destination information and potentially order from the inflight menu from their seats.
Not every aircraft is included. PaxEx.Aero and One Mile at a Time point out that easyJet’s older A319s, roughly 80 aircraft, won’t get Starlink because they’re due to be retired by 2029. Fitting the remaining 300 or so planes on this schedule works out to about one installation a day, PaxEx.Aero notes.
Context
CEO Kenton Jarvis said staying connected “matters more than ever” for both holidaymakers and business travelers. easyJet carried 100 million passengers in 2025 and flies more than 350 aircraft on over 1,200 routes, according to Quartz. One Mile at a Time reports the Wi-Fi will be free, though easyJet’s own announcement doesn’t spell out pricing. The move contrasts with rival Ryanair, whose CEO has said passengers won’t pay for Wi-Fi on short flights.
It’s the latest in a run of airline deals for Starlink. Just days ago Aer Lingus finished installing Starlink across its long-haul fleet.
