Configure SSH Tunneling Mode CentOS
Configure SSH Tunneling Mode CentOS
It seems as though SSH can do anything, allow you to login to a shell, sftp, and now this. You can securely setup a tunnel to run in the background of any Linux system. This not only make a tunnel, but more importantly, encrypts all the traffic between two servers that normally would not be communicating securely.
Login, and su to root

In this example, we are going to configure SSH to route X11 over SSH.

so basically we are creating a SSH connection -f tells us to go into background before it executes, the -L specifies the port you are binding to locally. So basically when we make a connection on port 2000 locally on this server, it actually opens a connection to the remote server on port 177
You should now be able to launch X applications connected locally over port 2000.
That’s it!
