Tesla Software Update 2026.38.6 Takes Grok Out of Beta and Adds Supercharger Site Maps

Tesla’s software update 2026.38.6, which began rolling out on October 29, removes the “beta” label from Grok, the in-car AI assistant, and adds a handful of practical features for charging and night driving.

What’s new

  • Grok out of beta: the label is gone on Model S, 3, X, Y and Cybertruck.
  • Supercharger Site Maps: on Intel-based legacy Model S and X, Model 3 and Model Y, tapping “View Site Map” shows a detailed layout of select Superchargers. At pilot sites, the layout and live stall status (Available, Occupied or Down) appear when you arrive.
  • Dynamic Headlight Leveling: on specific Model 3 and Cybertruck vehicles, low beams adjust their aim to driving conditions and nearby traffic to improve visibility and reduce glare.
  • Set Arrival Energy: choose your arrival charge for a trip from the Tesla app (version 4.58.0 or later).
  • Visual updates: higher-quality car images and an improved park scene on AMD and HW3 Model 3 and Model Y.

Smaller changes

Not a Tesla App also lists FSD Streaks for legacy Model S and X with Intel and HW3, a quick touchscreen language switch in Service Mode, isolation-health popups in the High Voltage panel, and a Launch Series badge animation on the Model Y L. Halloween Mode and Emergency Drive Away carry over from earlier 2026.38 builds; the Emergency Drive Away note now warns that drivers may be responsible for repair costs and that short camera recordings are shared with Tesla when it is used.

Why it matters

Dropping the beta tag signals Tesla considers Grok a finished in-car feature, and the site maps tackle a common annoyance at busy Superchargers: finding an open stall. The same week, Tesla also made Grok available to riders in its Model Y Robotaxis.
