A day after we reported 927 Tesla Robotaxi vehicles in Texas, the number has jumped again. Texas DMV records show Tesla registered 43 Cybercabs on Saturday, October 24, lifting its state roster to 970 vehicles, CyberCab.News reports.
How the day played out
The roster first moved Saturday afternoon (Central time), when 11 Cybercabs arrived in two batches, taking the total to 938. Just before midnight, 32 more 2026 Cybercabs were added, bringing it to 970. All 43 new entries were Cybercabs. The Model Y count didn’t change.
One tracker’s breakdown puts the fleet at 463 Cybercabs and 507 Model Ys, while Sawyer Merritt’s tally puts the Cybercab figure at 465. Either way, the two-seat vehicle with no steering wheel is now about 48% of Tesla’s registered Texas fleet. About 45 more would put Cybercabs ahead of the Model Y on the list for the first time.
The trend, and the caveats
On October 15, the roster showed 349 Cybercabs and 769 vehicles in total. Since September 1, Tesla’s Texas count has nearly tripled, averaging close to 12 new robotaxis a day. The jump comes during Formula 1 weekend in Austin, where Tesla expanded its service area to Circuit of the Americas.
These are state registrations, not a live count of cars carrying paying riders. A registered Cybercab may still be in testing or parked in a fleet lot, and Tesla hasn’t published its own fleet number.
