Fix Microsoft SQL Express Memory Issues

In this example, we have Microsoft SQL Server express. We know that express only can use 1GB RAM and One Processor. What can we do to fine-tune this scenario?

Our SQL Server only has 1GB of RAM in the first place, but our SQL Database is only 400MB, so how can we stop SQL Server from taking all the RAM un-necessarily?

login to SQL Server Management studio to get started

from here we need to take a look at our database server software

go to the database properties

under the memory tab, change the Maximum number of server memory (in MB) to the appropriate size. Note your maximum is 1GB in Express, and you would want to change that to a lower number if you have a small database.
