Tesla is preparing to enter Vietnam. On October 28, Tesla regional recruiting manager Ricky Ip posted on X that “Tesla is officially coming to Vietnam – and we’re hiring,” listing five open roles.
The roles
- Sales Manager
- Service Manager
- HR Business Partner
- Purchasing Manager
- Project Developer, Charging
Electrek points out that the charging role suggests Tesla plans to build Superchargers in the country. TNGlobal notes that none of the postings mention a factory, assembly or manufacturing work. They cover sales, service, site development, administration and regional sourcing.
Background
Tesla registered Tesla Motors Vietnam LLC in Ho Chi Minh City on September 11 with about VND 77.7 billion (roughly $3 million) in charter capital. Its registered business covers vehicle and parts imports, wholesale and retail. Tesla hadn’t commented on the filing before.
The market won’t be easy. Local EV maker VinFast has taken about 36% of new car sales in Vietnam this year, according to Electrek. TNGlobal reports VinFast sold 20,161 of the 48,484 cars sold in Vietnam in August 2026, about 42%.
Tesla has done this before in Southeast Asia. It started hiring in Thailand in September 2022 and opened orders three months later, and it began hiring in the Philippines in September 2024 before launching in early 2025. Tesla hasn’t announced pricing, models, store locations or a launch date for Vietnam.
