One Quick Point

** If you are planning a production environment, you may need to separate the SQL Server and SharePoint due to disk I/O

Install the Prerequisites, then from there, reboot, and move onto the full installation.

It’s generally to your advantage to do the full installation, because it allows you to add multiple servers, and choose data locations, Database Names, etc.

Change your data location as necessary.

Wait for the installer to finish

go ahead and run the configuration wizard once completed

be aware that this will need to temporarily take your site offline

you are also going to create a new server farm

set the farm passphrase, and record it somewhere where it will not be forgotten (you will need it in case you need to add other servers to the farm)

set the remote admin port if necessary (i used 4200 just to be different)

Review your final settings, and confirm

This takes a while to complete, it has to create 12 Databases.

once completed, the Farm Configuration wizard should pop up

configure the farm as necessary for your environment
